World Pork Expo Wraps Up 30 Years

Record numbers of exhibitors, seminars and live hogs reflect a vibrant industry


More than 20,000 producers, employees and pork professionals attended the 2018 World Pork Expo, June 6-8 in Des Moines, Iowa. Presented by the National Pork Producers Council, the Expo also welcomed nearly 1,000 international guests from 35 countries to Des Moines.

Marking its 30th year, the 2018 Expo presented a record number of trade-show exhibitors, hospitality tents, educational seminars and live hogs in the Junior National show. A long-time highlight, the Big Grill – staffed by Iowa’s Tama County Pork Producers Association – served up more than 10,000 free pork lunches over the event’s three days.

2018 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show

Nearly 7,600 members of the cattle community enjoyed fellowship, fun, education and leadership opportunities during the 2018 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show, which ended in Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 3.

Most in attendance enjoyed a huge and energetic trade show, with more than 350 exhibitors on more than seven acres of floor and outside space. Holding business meetings at the event were the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board, American National CattleWomen, CattleFax and the National Cattlemen’s Foundation. Members of NCBA also elected officers and engaged in a grassroots policy process at the event.

Bovine Industry Professionals Gather for Record-Setting 50th AABP Annual Conference

The animal health industry, like several other health-related industries, is continuously growing and expanding research-based and technical knowledge on the best practices and methods to use to improve the well-being of animals.

Producer Optimism Shines at the 2016 World Pork Expo 

This year’s World Pork Expo reflected an optimistic tone as more than 20,000 producers and ag professionals, including 1,100 international guests from 35 countries, convened at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines, June 8-10. Presented by the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), the 28th annual Expo featured the world’s largest pork-specific trade show, a range of educational seminars and issue updates, and another Junior National swine show that filled the barns to capacity. The Big Grill served up more than 10,000 lunches; allied industry hospitality tents lined the streets of the Iowa State Fairgrounds; and MusicFest provided an evening of fun and fellowship.

NCBA Trade Show - Cattlemen Gather in San Antonio for the 2015 Cattle Industry Convention

The 2015 trade show was the largest to date, including two education areas and a demonstration area with live animals for hands-on instruction. NCBA’s Learning Lounge featured 30-minute educational sessions to provide attendees valuable educational tips from industry experts in informal, face-to-face, technology-friendly classroom settings. Convention goers had the opportunity to attend committee meetings and take part in the grassroots policy development.
