Henry Schein Animal Health focuses on people, products and practice performance
Team Schein Members and supplier partner representatives met in New Orleans recently to advance their delivery of the best customer experience possible as Henry Schein Animal Health hosted its annual National Meeting. The meeting brought together more than 700 attendees, including over 430 Team Schein Members and more than 230 representatives from 70 supplier partners, who spent two days with the Henry Schein sales team providing technical education and building relationships.
The theme of this year’s meeting was “It’s All About Value,” which represents Henry Schein Animal Health’s commitment to offering its customers the products and solutions they need to operate more efficient and successful practices while delivering quality care to their patients.
“The overarching theme of value refers to people, products, and practice performance, and how we evolve to deliver value beyond just selling products,” said Tom Forte, EVP, Chief Commercial Officer at Henry Schein Animal Health. “We want our team members to take that away from the meeting – to know how our company is evolving to meet the needs of the customer. It’s a different landscape. The changing customer drives changes needed from our team. For us, it really is tailoring our services to meet different customer needs.”
Supporting that concept, the meeting featured a number of presentations led by Henry Schein Animal Health’s leadership team, as well as breakout sessions, educational seminars, and a supplier exhibit hall.
In addition, the meeting was the setting for the third annual Henry Schein Cares Medal presentation ceremony. Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, presented this year’s gold medal to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The silver medal was awarded to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, and Brooke USA, Inc. took home the bronze medal. The Henry Schein Cares Medal is an award given annually to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence in expanding access to care for the underserved in the fields of oral health, animal health, and medicine.
Launching for the first time at this year’s meeting was the We Care Global Challenge, a company-wide initiative in which Team Schein Members at six national sales meetings throughout the year attempt to assemble a combined 10,000 hygiene kits packed with essential health care and hygiene supplies. These kits will then be sent to girls, children, and adults living in international emergency areas around the world. Partnering with two global nonprofit organizations, Heart to Heart International and Save the Children, the Challenge embodies the Henry Schein Cares mission to “help health happen” for people living in underserved, at-risk, and remote communities.
An awards program also took place during the meeting, recognizing the company’s top sales achievers and other top performers within the company, as well as top supplier partners and products.
“At Henry Schein Animal Health, our sales reps are key members of the trusted network of advisors that our customers rely on to help them build thriving veterinary practices, so that they can focus on clinical care,” said Fran Dirksmeier, President, Henry Schein Animal Health, North America. “Our National Meeting provides our sales force with a rich learning environment to further develop their ability to deliver the best customer experience possible, celebrate their contributions to our shared success, and join their colleagues to give back to society in a way that aligns with our team culture. I thank them for their hard work and for their commitment to ensuring that our best days are yet to come.”
